Reading Rock Acquires
John Mueller Company
Reading Rock, the Cincinnati concrete block and paving manufacturer, has acquired The John Mueller Company. The John Mueller Company is a brick and building products supplier in Lockland, representing 26 brick manufacturers from across the country.
Gordon Rich, President of Reading Rock, says the acquisition will enable Reading Rock, Ohio's largest concrete block manufacturer, to diversify into brick, and the distribution of other related building materials. Rich says Reading Rock purchased one of the leading residential distributors to complement the "service dimension" of the company.
New PCA Catalog
The Portland Cement Association's new 52-page catalog describes over 500 low-cost publications, slide sets, videos and software. The collection covers all aspects of cement and concrete, from construction fundamentals to engineering design software. Because PCA represents manufacturers of cement, an ingredient of concrete, its publications and audiovisual materials span all types of concrete construction, materials and markets. The new catalog is also easier to use. An extensive subject index refers the reader to all publications on a particular topic.
For a free copy of the catalog, contact Portland Cement Association, Dept. OP, 5420 Old Orchard Road, Skokie, Illinois, 60077 (312/966-9559).
