Meet MCAA's New Officers
President, vice president, secretary, treasurer and one regional vice president elected to office-nine regional vice presidents reelected-to two year terms.

RICHARD MATTHEWS
President
RICHARD MATTHEWS, elected president of MCAA, as with many other executives in the mason contracting field, began learning his trade from his father and uncle, both of whom were bricklayers. Today, he's president of KMCO, Incorporated in Miamisburg, Ohio, a leading masonry firm specializing in commercial, industrial and refractory work throughout the Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus and southeastern Ohio areas.
After graduating from high school in 1951, Dick spent three years in the Marine Corps. After discharge, he worked for Hoying Masonry for fifteen years, the last ten years as vice president and general manager. He then formed M and D Masonry, which was later merged into KMCO. Before being elected president of MCAA, Dick completed terms as vice president, secretary, treasurer, was regional vice president for eight years, and Ohio state chairman for four years. He also served on the association's material handling, membership and finance committees and is a member of the Masonry Summit Board. In other industry activities, he's past president of MCA of Dayton, and is currently treasurer of the organization. He's a member of the Marketing Program Board of the International Masonry Institute and chairman of the Masonry Institute of Dayton. Dick is an avid sportsman and can often be found boating and fishing. He and his wife, Virginia, have two children, eighteen year old Stacey and twenty-seven year old Gary, a graduate of Sinclair College in Dayton, who has joined his father in the business.

L. C. PARDUE, JR.
Vice President
ELECTED to serve as MCAA's new vice president, L.C. (Lenny) Pardue is well known to the masonry industry in the Pacific Northwest for his activities in promoting masonry and his efforts on behalf of MCAA at the local and international levels. He's president of L.C. Pardue, Incorporated, Tualatin, Oregon. Following attendance at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, Lenny joined the family business, which was founded by his father in 1953. He assumed the presidency of the firm in 1970. A twenty-four year member of MCAA, he was secretary, treasurer, regional vice president (1976 to 1988), is a trustee of the Oregon Masonry Institute and is a trustee of the Northwest Bricklayers Pension Trust. He currently serves as IMI research and development board member and apprenticeship and training board member, and is a past president of the Oregon Masonry Institute. He has served two terms as president of the Portland chapter of MCAA. Lenny has expanded his business to cover the states of Washington, Alaska, California and Nevada. Lenny and his wife, Linda, have two children, Karen, 18, and Bill, 23, who is not working in the family business.

Secretary
DONALD C. GRANT, elected secretary of MCAA is president of Grant Contracting, Incorporated, St. Louis, Missouri, a masonry firm specializing in commercial industrial and institutional work. He's also president of Grant Construction and Engineering Company, which participates in building design and development. Don earned his B.A. degree in business.
