Wealth of activities
Attendees can choose from plenty of group and individual activities. Sports Illustrated calls San Diego "the sports capital of America." Golf, tennis, bicycling, boating, scuba diving and surfing are just a few of the activities offered. Whether chartering a boat for sportfishing or whale watching, to just kicking back and catching a few rays on one of the more than 27 miles of coastline, San Diego offers attractions for everyone.
Other popular spots include the world famous San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Wild Game Preserve, Sea World and Balboa Park. Restaurants range from waterfront venues to mountain views, from countryside settings to downtown excitement.
San Diego also boasts of being a shoppers' paradise, offering visitors an inviting variety of stores and merchandise. Choose from downtown Horton Plaza with nearly two hundred shops and Seaport Village which marries a seaside theme with a carnival atmosphere; Lajolla which offers exclusive boutiques; and Tijuana, Mexico, a duty free zone, which makes the city a shopping paradise (lowered peso and competitive merchants combine to provide bargains on a variety of products including handcrafted jewelry, pottery and leather products).
