Excellence Award for Engineering Center
THE DAYTON, OHIO architectural firm Levin Porter associates received an Architectural Excellence Award for its design of Wright State University's new Russ Engineering Center. The Award was the top honor at the 20th annual Masonry Institute of Dayton's award ceremonies last year.
The Masonry Institute of Dayton represents manufacturers and distributors of masonry products in eleven southwest Ohio counties.
The 173,110 square foot structure for the university's college of engineering and computer sciences uses a four story atrium to organize the space and bring in natural light. The atrium serves as a visual focus and provides a sense of orientation for the visitor at each level.
