"The city shows off the many advantages of concrete block. NCMA committee meetings will be held at the Hyatt Regency, constructed of integrally colored, split-faced block. Various tourist sites around the city also are constructed of concrete masonry. For example, the Bank One Ballpark, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks major league baseball team, is constructed of 8x8x16 grey block backup with modular brick veneer and one elevation of integrally colored ground and split-face block. Split and burnished block make the America West Arena an attractive site. The recently completed Arizona Science Museum is a grey, sand-blasted block masonry building.
