Restoration and Renovation

First place was awarded to a project that clearly was a technical challenge. Integrating the unique older materials with the new clearly presented many challenges. First Place in the Restoration and Rehabilitation category was presented to St. Paul Church. Contractor: Howard Jacobs, DiBenedetto/Thomson/ Livingston architects.

Pavers/Retaining Walls/Landscaping

The use of organic indigenous materials makes this first place winner in the pavers/retaining walls and landscaping category a unique winner. The judges were also impressed with the historical and religious under pinning of this project. First place in the Pavers/Retaining Walls/Landscaping category was presented to Rose Circle Columbarium. Contractor: Johnson Masonry, Inc., Glen A. Cloninger & Associates architects.

Residential

The integration of exterior materials with the interior materials truly set the first place home apart from the rest in the contest. The use of the stone with wood on the inside of the project was liked by the judges, they commented that this gave a unique warmth to this home. First place in the residential category was presented to St. Albans. Contractor: Heitkamp Masonry, Inc., Steven Dye architects.

The second Place award in the residential category used a great combination of materials. On top of the use of materials, the judges were also very impressed with the fine detail work put into this project. Second Place in the residential category was presented to Franklin County. Contractor: Heitkamp Masonry, Inc., Architectural Resources architect.
