Stone Scribe
The Stone-Scribe™ is a new device which enables the stone mason to transfer the contour of one stone to another, making any joint configuration possible. It saves the user both time and material. It saves time by eliminating the need to tediously measure and transfer cut marks. It saves stone by eliminating measurement errors and allowing the user to easily duplicate the shape of a natural stone edge when field cutting. The Stone-Scribe allows for curved or "flowing" shapes in the layout rather than only straight line cuts and allows transfer of irregular wall lines to stone for that perfect fit. The tool adjusts from a 3 joint structure to a mortar-less joint to an overhang coping, cutting the time of previously used methods substantially. The user suspends the stone to be cut above the previously cut stones with a block to allow the Stone-Scribe roller to pass between the two stones. While pushing the Stone Scribe along the inner perimeter of the space, the attached carpenter's pencil transfers a cul line for a flaw less fit. This device was introduced at the Masonry Show in Las Vegas in February, 2000. It is now available from Cepco Tool Company. For more information you may contact them by telephone at 800-466-9626, or visit their website at www.cepcotool.com.
Grout Pump
The Mayco Grout Pump ST-45 has a variable volume output from 0 to 45 cubic yards per hour. This pump features reverse, shuttle tube pumping, which can be used on refractory, shotcrete, masonry block fill, slabs, footings, and lightweight mixes. It provides a concrete piston face pressure of 875 psi, and also incorporates "cushioned" hydraulic cylinders for more efficient pumping strokes and hard faced wear components that provide longer life and lower maintenance costs. The unit is also available in a scaled down version, the ST-45SD, which utilizes smaller 41/2" ID. material cylinders and provides pressures of up to 1467 psi and volume of 0 to 20 plus, cu. yd. per hour. It's designed to handle 3/4 in. minus aggregate mixes and low cement/sand slurries for the shotcreting contractors, or mud jacking contractors, who tackle the big heavy duty jobs. Material Handler
The new 53409-45 Gradall material handler is the first telescoping boom, versatility machine of its kind to offer the combined advantages of a 45-foot lift height, a maximum capacity up to 9,000 pounds and exceptionally easy operation, even for a big capabilities machine. This unique combination of advantages makes the 53409-45 perfectly suited for busy jobsites requiring precise placements of brick, block, mortar, lumber or other materials at heights of four stories or more. At full lift height, and without the need for outriggers, maximum capacity is still an impressive 6,000 pounds, while a maximum reach of 31 feet, 6 inches, enables the 53409-45 to quickly handle inventory placement in busy storage yards. The 53409-45 is exceptionally maneuverable thanks to Gradall's unique 90" rear pivot steering. Drill Bit
The new Bosch SDS-Plus S4 Rotary Hammer Drill Bit has been designed, tested and manufactured to surpass all prior expectations of longevity, speed and performance in a rotary hammer drill bit. Extensive testing showed that the S4 provided up to 25 percent faster drilling speed in concrete than competing bits. It also lasted up to 25 percent longer than the competition. "The S4 proves it can take punishment from the toughest of surfaces, showing maximum durability drilling through granite, as well as boring through reinforced steel (rebar). The key to such optimum performance and strength is the combination of two innovative patent designs from Bosch: its 4-spiral geometric flute and a special Tungsten Carbide (TC) tip head. The SDS-Plus S4 is designed to handle a diverse range of materials. For rotary hammer applications, the S4 is ideal for brickwork, hard concrete, reinforced concrete and granite. Working in a rotary application, the S4 works fast on ceramic and floor tiles, brick and roofing tiles and hollow core bricks. For more information visit the Web site at www.boschtools.com.
