6. How did you get into the contracting business?
Painter Masonry was started in 1968 when Abe Painter (2nd generation), a general superintendent for a local general contractor and Jerry Painter (3rd generation), part-time student and estimator for another local general contractor, decided to put their skills as masons to use for their own benefit. Jim Painter joined the company five years later.
7. I became a member of the MCAA because
We wanted to join an organization in which we could share masonry knowledge and experiences with other contractors. We also wanted to be a part of a national group that was promoting masonry from the contractor perspective. It had to be a progressive group.
8. I find the thing I like most about the MCAA now is...
I like the recent move of MCAA to become one of the leading organizations in the masonry industry. The MCAA provides leadership in promotion of masonry, education of its members, and working to affect change in the industry for the benefit of its members.
