An awareness of those gaps can enable you to take the steps necessary to ensure that they are closed. Steps to close those cash flow gaps might include a short-term loan or lowering your investment in accounts receivable or inventory.

PROJECTING CASH INFLOWS

Projecting the cash receipts of your masonry business involves that all-important sales forecast. If your business only accepts cash sales, then your projected cash receipts will equal the amount of sales predicted in the sales forecast. Projecting cash receipts is a little more involved if the masonry operation extends credit to customers and deals with accounts receivable. If this is the case, a masonry contractor must take into account the collection of those accounts receivable.
