Spectacular projects and we have been lucky enough to have worked on many of them. Because of that, it would be difficult to name just one favorite. However, if pressed, I would say that the Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Performing Arts Hall in Fort Worth, Texas was one of the most challenging.
The most innovative thing about our company is?
We are never satisfied with anything. We know that we can always do a better job, perform the work more efficiently, develop more proficient systems, serve our clients more reliably, train our workforce more intensely and be a more knowledgeable resource for the industry.
How did you get into the contracting business?
I started out occasionally unloading insulation trucks (semi's) with a friend for extra money during high school. This blossomed into installing insulation and performing some estimating for the insulation subcontractor. During college, I went to work for a general contractor as a laborer (because the pay was much better and the work was less "itchy") and eventually became a carpenter. Once I got out of school I knew that I wanted to be in the construction business.
We became a member of the MCAA because?
It is THE national organization for the mason contractor. There is no substitute.
I find the thing I like most about the MCAA now is?
There seems to be a more aggressive attitude and plan for positively affecting change for the mason contractor and the masonry industry. From the legislative agenda to the training resources to the dissemination of industry information there is substantial momentum.
