Following a Family Tradition
Jason McGee of Lake, Miss., is following a family tradition by entering construction. Both Jason and his older brother work for Joe McGee Construction Company, a road and bridge construction company owned by their father.
McGee is a hard-working, high achieving young mason. A star student at Lake High School, McGee is a member of the National Honor Society and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He played on the football team, but has received greater recognition for his baseball abilities. McGee was a member of the Class 1A State Championship baseball team in 2000 and the South State Championship team in 2001. He earned All-State honors in 2001 and 2002, and was voted team MVP as well in 2002. Before graduating high school, McGee was named an Army National Scholar-Athlete.
His instructor, Tommy Anthony, says of McGee, "Jason is a star student. He's a member of the National Vocational Technical Honor Society, and this past summer he competed in the national masonry contest in Kansas City. Jason is simply one of the best students I've had in my 30 years of teaching."
McGee is currently attending Meridian Community College with plans to enroll at Mississippi State University to study construction management and land development.
