MASONRY
SAWS

features

# A Cut Above
It's not always possible to bring the brick, block or stone to a table saw for trimming. That's where the handheld saw comes in handy. More than a carpenter's saw with a diamond blade, masonry saws are designed for the rugged environment in which they must perform. And some have performance that matches concrete cutting saws, as well as unusual configurations.

The Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting Station No. 29 project was a Citation Award at the Arizona Masonry Guild's 13 Annual Excellence in Masonry Architectural Awards. The architect was LEA/Lawrence Enyart Architects and the mason contractor was Sun Valley Masonry, Inc.

# Retrofitting Existing Masonry Buildings to Resist Explosions
The tragic events of September 11 have served to highlight the vulnerability of existing structures to terrorist attack in the United States. This article will focus attention on some of the methods available to strengthen existing masonry structures and provide resistance to the effects of a blast attack.

# Smaller Mixers Shake Up 2005
With the construction show season in full swing, we'll take a look at some of the special attributes that mason contractors can expect in the 2005 offerings of mortar mixers.
