ARIZONA MASONRY GUILD ANNOUNCES ARCHITECTURAL AWARD WINNERS
The Arizona Masonry Guild Inc. held its 15th Annual Excellence in Masonry Architectural Awards banquet on Friday, Oct. 27, 2006, at the Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center. The program honored 11 projects for outstanding masonry design, workmanship and creativity with the use of brick, block or stone.
Each year, the winning projects are selected by an out-of-state panel of jurors. The 2006 panel was from Las Vegas. Edward A. Vance, AIA, NCARB, president of JMA Architecture Studios, was the jury chairman and participated in the awards presentation at the banquet.
For each winning project, an award was presented to the architectural firm, mason contractor, structural engineering firm, general contractor and masonry supplier.
The Arizona Masonry Guild sponsors the Annual Excellence in Masonry Architectural Awards program. Established in 1958, the non-profit organization is celebrating 48 years of service to both the masonry industry and Arizonians.
The Guild has played a significant role in economic development, new product and construction standards, enhanced safety policies and increased energy efficiency of masonry products. It also has been on the forefront of developing and implementing statewide educational seminars for the professional community and programs with Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University and the University of Arizona.
