ATICRETE Hires Contractor Sales Rep, Donates in Istanbul
LATICRETE has hired Adam Marks as contractor sales representative for the Georgia and Alabama territory, where he will focus on building and maintaining partnerships with major contractors in the greater Atlanta area. Marks joins LATICRETE with 15 years of experience as a tile contractor and LATICRETE installer, and his familiarity with the profession and LATICRETE System provide a strong foundation for the position.
The company also recently supplied Sonia King, a mosaic artist, educator and author, with LATICRETE thin-set mortar for a week-long glass mosaic workshop at the prestigious Glass Furnace in Istanbul, Turkey.
King, author of "Mosaic Techniques and Traditions" (Sterling Publishing), travels the world sharing her knowledge and passion for fine art mosaics, and was invited to teach a week-long workshop at the Glass Furnace in Turkey.
The workshop was designed to offer participants an elevated sense of what mosaic art is about and provide each artist with the knowledge to take their skills to the next level. The workshop began Oct. 14 and ended with an exhibit of each students work Oct. 20. IMAS
Power Climber's general manager for more than 24 years, Germain Vanhulle, announced his intention to retire in 2008. Vanhulle will work with Power Climber for the next several months. His contributions will be shared in an appreciation event when he retires formally.
Powers Fasteners Expands Staff
Powers Fasteners Inc. expanded engineering staff with the appointments of Kent Carlson and Annemarie Fleming as field technical service managers for the western and eastern regions respectively, and Bob Sinclair as field engineer for the Northwest region.
Carlson has more than 25 years of engineering experience in the construction industry and joins Powers after serving six years as director of engineering for Shearmax Corp. in Hesteria, Calif.
Fleming joins Powers after serving as account executive for Global Spec, an engineering marketing service firm in Troy, N.Y. She is a native of North Brunswick, N.J, and has more than 20 years of experience in the business development and sales fields.
Sinclair brings more than 28 years of engineering experience in the federal government to his new position. He is a registered professional engineer, and served six years as a technical service representative for ITW Ramset/Redhead after retiring from the government.
