StarTrak Acquires Construction and Equipment Monitoring Solution
Star Trak Systems, a subsidiary of Alanco Technologies Inc., a transport refrigeration wireless monitoring and control systems company, has acquired the assets of Micro-Logic, a provider of products designed to help construction and equipment rental businesses monitor and track a wide range of high-value fleet assets, such as heavy equipment and service and delivery vehicles. The company's iSite Solution Suite of products helps maximize equipment utilization, minimize downtime, and improve service life by monitoring operating condition and optimizing maintenance schedules, as well as raise resale values.
The MicroLogic iSite Solution Suite includes three main products for construction equipment, service and delivery vehicles: CELogic, ServiceLogic, and TrackerLogic.
New Book From QUIKRETE

MC Industrial Wins Keystone Award for Holcim (US) Silos Project
MC Industrial workers logged more than 700,000 self-perform man hours to place 66,000 cubic yards of concrete and 20.5 million pounds of rebar to build 13 slip formed siles. There are five different types of silos ranging in size from the widest, 207-feet tall by 150-feet in diameter, to the tallest, 275-feet tall by 80-feet in diameter.
Completing 13 slip form silos in 18 months on the world's largest single-line clinker cement plant recently earned MC Industrial Inc. a Keystone Award, the highest honor bestowed by the AGC of St. Louis, for construction excellence. The silos were built for Holcim (US) on the firm's new plant in Ste. Genevieve County, Mo.
MC Industrial and joint venture partner, Minneapolis-based T.E. Ibber son Co., began the design-build silo project in August 2006. MC Industrial workers logged more than 700,000 self-perform man hours to place 66,000 cubic yards of concrete and 20.5 million pounds of rebar. Crews worked 24-7 during the 72 "slip days" to build five different types of silos ranging in size from the widest, 207 feet tall X 150 feet in diameter, to the tallest, 275 feet tall X 80 feet in diameter.

Global Awards for Access Industry
The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) and its official magazine, Access International, have launched the first global awards specifically for the access industry. The trophies will be awarded in April 2009 in Dublin, Ireland, after the IPAF Summit.
The International Awards for Powered Access (IAPA) celebrate and reward best practice. The categories are:
