Neal J. He informed me of his desire to retire several months ago, and we implemented our succession plan that will provide for a smooth handover to Steve, Jack is tireless, and after 35 years with Kaman, this is a well-earned retirement. Paylor Retires, Wilson Jones Named Successor, JLG

Craig Paylor has retired as president of JLG Industries and executive VP, Oshkosh Corp. Wilson Jones, Oshkosh Corp. executive VP and president of Oshkosh's Fire and Emergency segment, has been named to succeed Paylor as president of JLG and executive VP of the Access Equipment segment of Oshkosh Corp.

Charlie Szews, Oshkosh Corp. president and COO, says, "We wish Craig the best in retirement and look forward to Wilson successfully leading JLG and expanding the business globally. We expect to build upon the outstanding foundation set by Craig at JLG, and are pleased to bring Wilson's skills to sustain and grow JLG's global leadership position in the Access Equipment market."

JLG Launches Aerial Work Platforms in Mexico

The largest Caterpillar dealer in Mexico, with 45 branches will bring JLG aerial work platforms to its territory. The JLG product launch with MADISA will begin with the purchase of 800S Boom Lifts, 1200 SJP Boom Lifts, 3394 and 4394 RT Scissor Lifts, M600 Boom Lifts and 1930ES Scissor Lifts. This launch marks the first time that MADISA has purchased aerial work platforms above 60 feet. Most often used for large industrial facilities and for new construction in Mexico, aerial work platforms are safer and more efficient than relying on scaffolding and cranes, JLG aerial work platforms also offer exceptional reach, high capacity, versatile performance and easy maintenance.

Ing. Leonel Martinez, MADISA Product Manager, says, "We decided to order these JLG products, because we saw an opportunity to expand into another market, and JLG will be the line that accomplishes that goal. To meet our position as 'Easy to do Business With, we wanted to meet and exceed our customers' expectations, which in this case meant offering higher reaching lifts that could help our clients complete their projects in an efficient and safe manner."

JLG Receives $85.7 Million Order from U.S. Army

JLG Industries, Inc. has received an order to build 492 All Terrain Lifter Army System (ATLAS II) telescopic forklifts for the U.S. Army. The order has a value of $85.7 million, with units scheduled for delivery beginning in the fall of 2010. The newest in the JLG line of military telehandlers, the ATLAS II is designed with more versatility and improved load-handling capabilities. The ATLAS II can reach into trucks or shipping containers, lift loads over obstacles and pick up loads from both above and below grade. It has a maximum reach of 28 feet and lift loads of up to 10,000 pounds. The ATLAS program began in 1998 with the original ATLAS design and continues with a second generation machine. The ATLAS II will be manufactured at JLG facilities in McConnellsburg, Pa.

JLG Awarded $6 Million Contract From U.S. Navy

JLG Industries Inc. has received an order to build 38 Engine Installation and Removal Vehicles (EIRV) for the U.S. Navy. The EIRV is based on the rugged design of the MMV, a telescopic material handler developed specifically for the material handling needs of the US. Marine Corp. Its modified boom is ideal for placing or removing engines on cargo aircraft like the P-3, C-2, E-2 and C-130. The EIRV has a load capacity of 6,000 pounds and can maneuver in the most challenging terrains. Valued at about $6 million, this contract brings the total EIRV vehicles on order to 64 units, with a value totaling more than $10 million dollars. The EIRV is built in McConnellsburg and will be in use at naval facilities around the globe.
