South of 40 will sponsor a MCAA Webinar Series, and a schedule of Live webinars can be found at www.masoncontractors.org/southof40. A fundraising event at Hofbräuhaus raised money in support of the MCAA Foundation, which was created to build a stronger and more successful future for mason contractors. MCAA Foundation is a 5013c organization and all sponsorships are tax deductible.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee meeting was led by chair Don McCauley. Renewals, new members, committee growth and participation, a monthly Member Postcard Program, and the Group Challenge/New Member Contest of 2010 were discussed.
MasonrySystems.org Committee
The MasonrySystems.org Committee meeting was led by chair Brian J. Grant. Topics discussed were defining direction from the MCAA Board, the goals of the committee, committee ground work, a LEED task group, an advertising and self-funding task group, and the promotion task group. The MasonrySystems.org website will continue to grow and develop in 2011.
Marketing Committee
Marketing Committee Chair Damian Lang led the meeting, during which several topics were covered. Those topics included Vision 2020 and the MCAA's continued close work with the National Concrete Masonry Association on this

Daniel Awarded C. DeWitt Brown Leadman Award
MCAA President Mackie Bounds presented the 2011 C. DeWitt Brown Leadman Award to Tom Daniel of GBC Concrete & Masonry in Lake Elsinore, Calif., during the MCAA Annual Meeting at the 2011 MCAA Convention in Las Vegas in January. Tom Daniel has worked in the masonry industry since the 1980s and has been a member of the MCAA for more than 15 years. He has volunteered countless hours for the association and the masonry industry in California and nationally. Daniel spent eight years on the MCAA Executive Board, including two years as president from 2008-2010.
