INDUSTRY NEWS
Serving the nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need. Serving honor and need is the cornerstone of the foundation, which is built upon its founder's life-long principals and long-standing commitment to be a citizen of action, and to help in any way that one can, the people who serve our country. The sole purpose of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the legacy of love given by Stephen Siller, FDNY, who laid down his life on 9/11, by "doing good" in his name. The mission is to follow Siller's footsteps through support of children who have lost a parent, firefighters, and military who have been seriously injured and sacrifice their quality of life in the line of duty.

Aggregate Industries US Receives Multiple Safety Awards
Aggregate Industries US, a Holcim Group company, says several locations of Aggregate Industries US, Midwest Region (AIMWR) have been recognized by the Safety Awards Program of the Illinois Association for Aggregate Producers (IAAP). The awards were presented during IAAP'S Annual Convention in May.

The IAAP Rock Solid Safety in Excellence Award, the highest award level, went to 11 locations: Portable AC2, Portable AC3, Portable NB1, Algonquin Pit 5, Battle Creek Plant, Chelsea Plant, Dyer Lake Pit 34, Edwardsburg/Milliken Plant, Otsego Shop, Pullman/Sweet Plant, Wayland Plant. Two more locations, Dundee Quarry and McHenry West Pit 26, received the IAAP Silver Award.

The IAAP Safety Committee's Rock Solid Safety Award Program publicly recognizes members who set high safety and health standards in the conduct of their operations. This form of recognition serves to reward companies that implement sound safety and health programs, while encouraging other mine operators and service providers to use recognized systems and methods to prevent injuries or illnesses.

Contribution to United Way
NACCO Materials Handling Group Inc. (NMHG) presented a 56,250 check to United Way of Pitt County during the East Carolina University (ECU) baseball game versus High Point University on May 15. Jim Cleslar, executive director of United Way of Pitt County, was present to receive the check from NMHG's Thom Peebles, director of brand management, and Mike Moran, director of warehouse product sales.
