The New Faces of Engineering program

The New Faces of Engineering program strives to promote the accomplishments of young engineers by highlighting their engineering contributions and the resulting impact on society.

Johnson was nominated for his work bettering the interests of mason contractors, including the first ever Masonry Workmanship Standard, his assistance to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in the development and revision of various construction safety standards, and the first ever Masonry Wall Bracing Handbook.

Profiles for those nominated for the New Faces program were featured in a full-page ad in USA Today, posted on the National Engineers Week (www.eweek. org) and Eweek educational (www.discoverengineering.org) websites, engineering trade press and hometown media, and an educational poster.

Masonry magazine would like to congratulate Johnson on this accomplishment for the masonry industry.

WINESTIMATOR, INC. signs purchase agreement for G2 Estimator

WinEstimator, Inc., a global supplier of project cost estimating software announced today a definitive agreement with Valli Information Systems, Inc. to acquire G2 Estimator. The agreement includes an exclusive offer from Valli to G2 Estimator users to migrate them to WinEst version 7.0 project cost estimating software during the transition.

This purchase agreement came as Valli Information Systems weighed options available to its G2 Estimator division and the future of the G2 Estimator software. Valli's concerns and obligations to their customers led to the evaluation and eventual negotiations of the agreement. "WinEstimator, Inc. is an industry leader and their full spectrum product line, their customer support model, and their overall business plan was the deciding factor for Valli. Their sound financial position, commitment to product development, and most importantly, customer support after the sale is what convinced me." remarked Todd Youren, VP of Valli Information Systems, Inc.
