Words: Dan Kamys

The Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jason McCoy as the organization's Region 3 Outreach and Education Director. After an extensive search, Jason joins MCAA to lead this pioneering role, which is crucial for the future of the masonry industry.

Jason McCoy is a recognized expert in historic preservation, structural masonry, building envelope diagnostics and more. As Senior Consultant and Chairman of Bramwell-McKay Masonry Restoration & Consultants, Jason has built a reputation not only as a trusted technical authority, but as a mentor, educator, and advocate for the next generation of skilled tradespeople.

Within Jason's 40-year tenure in the masonry industry, he has conducted thousands of building assessments, performed countless multimillion-dollar preservation projects, and stewarded endless collaborations with municipalities, architects, engineers, and educational institutions.

He designed and taught the AIA-accredited course “Causes of Masonry Failure” and has been asked to speak at national trade events, including The World of Concrete. He carries a deeply entrenched desire to share his knowledge and expertise in this specialized industry, and successfully engages youth, apprentices and aspiring artisans.

"I am thrilled to accept this position, and look forward to being involved in the expansion of the masonry industry through our Outreach and Education efforts. We are assembling a powerhouse team, and I cannot wait to get to work,” said Jason McCoy.

In addition to his instructional work, Jason is a seasoned consultant and communicator—capable of interfacing with school districts, nonprofit partners, contractors, and community leaders to build bridges between education and industry. His strategic planning experience, combined with his passion for preserving both structures and knowledge, makes him uniquely qualified to lead outreach initiatives that prepare students for real-world success.

Jason brings unmatched credibility, a deep network of industry allies, and a heartfelt commitment to youth education that aligns directly with the mission of his role as an authority in the masonry space. His leadership skills and industry expertise, combined with access to an exclusive pool of experts make him and his team an invaluable asset to advancing any initiative in the masonry industry and beyond.

"We’re thrilled to have Jason join the team in the Region 3 Director spot. His knowledge and vast experience within the industry makes him a natural fit. The industry is lucky to have his heart and knowledge, and adding him to the MCAA Outreach and Education team is going to make our efforts even more powerful," said Jeff Buczkiewicz, MCAA President and CEO.

This appointment is part of MCAA's ongoing initiatives, including the Masonry Alliance Program for suppliers, the innovative GEORGE AI system, the MASONRY STRONG Podcast, and expanding team. These efforts underscore MCAA's commitment to leading the masonry industry into a new era of growth and innovation.
