The Charlotte Checkers and Husqvarna have teamed up to announce “15 Days of Giving,” a daily community service program within the Charlotte area from Oct. 1 to Oct. 15.

Throughout the 15-day program, the Checkers and Husqvarna will contribute to local non-profit organizations by volunteering time, making monetary donations and holding food and clothing drives, among other community service initiatives.

“The Checkers are committed to serving the community and look to partner with like-minded, community-focused organizations,” said Checkers senior vice president Aaron Osborne. “Husqvarna truly fits that description and we’re proud to work alongside them on this program.”

Husqvarna, which is locally headquartered and a supportive member of the Charlotte community, has volunteered the services of employees and will work hand-in-hand with the Checkers throughout the duration of the program.

“It is extremely important for Husqvarna to volunteer in the community in which we do business,” says John Marchionda, Vice President of marketing for Husqvarna. “Partnering with the Checkers on this initiative is a fantastic way to make a difference in our area.”

The Checkers will host daily updates on their website, www.gocheckers.com, including write-ups, photos and video features, and the program will culminate with a presentation and video at their opening night game on Saturday, Oct. 15.
