Mortar Net Solutions adds EPDM Membrane to TotalFlash

Words: Art FoxMortar Net Solutions has added a new 45 mil Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) membrane to its TotalFlash Masonry Cavity Wall Drainage Solution. The new EPDM membrane will be the standard TotalFlash membrane, but current TotalFlash membranes will be available on request.

EPDM is an easy-to-handle waterproof elastomeric synthetic rubber and has been used for decades as an extremely durable roofing membrane. It is highly resistant to punctures, ozone, ultraviolet radiation (UV), thermal shock and abrasion, and it will not turn brittle over time. It is flexible in low temperatures so TotalFlash panels and rolls featuring an EPDM membrane may be installed in a wide variety of temperatures.

It bonds aggressively with MPE-1 modified polyether sealant from Mortar Net Solutions so TotalFlash EPDM panels and rolls may easily be overlapped at their ends to form air and water-tight joints. The EPDM membrane and MPE-1 sealant are 100 percent compatible with the new CompleteFlash one-piece synthetic rubber and polypropylene blend 14-inch High Corner Boots and end dams from Mortar Net Solutions.

EPDM is one of the most proven materials commonly used to provide waterproofing. In addition to roofs and flashing, EPDM is found in pond liners, tunnels, foundations and green roofs. EPDM is one of the most sustainable and environmental materials used in the construction industry. Its extreme durability means low life cycle costs and it can be recycled into the manufacturing of other products.
