At the Tuesday session, the men were treated to an unusual, but highly delightful event a young lady taking a shower on the stage. To illustrate the waterproof characteristics of vermiculite insulation the demonstration was extremely successful. It's scheduled for '64 already... Those going through the show were treated to many gifts. From fascinatinig balloons, useful targets, colorful vests, thoughtful shoe shines, beautiful glasses and banks. Exhibitors made sure that members went home with many mementos of the Pittsburgh Convention.

Lee Churchill was honored by the Arizona Masonry Guild for the outstanding job he has done as President of that organization.. Charles L. Hickman, Mesa, Ariz., is the new President of the Arizona Chapter. A.I.A. Latest issue of SCPI, Brick & Tile, features the Brick Idea Home exhibited in the 1962 Parade of Homes in Denver, Colorado.

The promotion of Ashton Marcus to Gramweld Stud Welding Product Manager and the appointment of James E. Rudnick to fill Marcus' former position of Marketing Services Manager, has been announced by Guy E. Sabin, General Sales Manager of Omark Industries, Inc., Portland, Ore. John W. Bruce, Jr. has been named President and General Manager of Larsen Products Corp., Bethesda, Md., according to Mrs. Phyllis H. Larsen, Board Chairman and Treasurer.

Maurice L. Burgener has been appointed Assistant to the Vice President for Promotion and William V. Wagner, Jr. named Manager of the Farm Bureau for the Portland Cement Association. The Carborundum Co. has announced the creation of a new subsidiary which has purchased the Ty-Sa-Man Machine Co., Knoxville, Tenn. Charles T. Richards, Richards Brick Co., Edwardsville, III., is the new president of Region 5, SCPI. Buel M. Wallis has been appointed Assistant Director of Marketing for Kochring Co... George E. Detzel was elected president of the Cincinnati Chapter of AGC at the annual meeting Jan. 16th.

NEW YORK Construction may rise faster in 1963 than the in 1962, according to a forecast on Engineering News-Record's struction and Building Cost In covering 20 major U. S. cities. Current indications are for a 3.4 per rise in the ENR Construction Index from December, 1962, to jected level 909.81 (1913-100 December, 1963. This forecast is on estimates of the cost of steel ber, cement and common labos components of the ENR Constr Cost Index.

A rise of 3.5 per cent is ex for the ENR Building Cost Inde the year ending December, 1963 the year end index level estima 604.31.
