In Memoriam

Otto Jantz, past president of MCAA's Seattle, Washington, Chapter, passed away in mid-October, following a brief illness. He was 65 years old at the time of his death.

Mr. Jantz, of 18043 57th Ave. N.E., Seattle, Wash., was born in Bickleton, Klicktat County, Wash., and came to the Seattle area in 1913.

Mr. Jantz was active in youth work in Bethel Temple and was a former pastor in West Seattle and Bothell, Wash. He was also a lecturer on archeology. Mr. Jantz was a member of the Full Gospel Ministerial Fellowship.

He is survived by his wife, Helene; two sons, Robert and Ralph; a sister, and four grandchildren.


Ralph Moore

Ralph Moore, Beaumont, Texas, passed away during October. Mr. Moore was a member of the Sabine Area Masonry Contractors Association and operated the firm of Brickwork, Inc., Beaumont, Texas.


Edward L. Ramm

Edward L. Ramm, president of the E. L. Ramm Co., La Grange, Ill., building material and supply company, passed away November 10th. He founded the E. L. Ramm Co. which became one of the leading material firms in the Chicago-land area.

He is survived by his wife, Edna; a son, Henry E.; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Rossback; three brothers, Harry, William and Clarence, and a sister, Mrs. Laura Prell.

Duke is a native of St. Louis and a graduate of Washington University. He is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer, with five years experience as a Structural Engineer in the building industry.

Richard M. Spaulding, Spaulding Brick Co., Boston, Mass., was renamed President of the National Association of Distributors and Dealers of Structural Clay Products at that group's annual convention. Henri Bastien, W.&F.S. Currie, Ltd., St. Laurent, Quebec, Canada and John Hallman, Atlanta, Ga., were re-elected Vice Presidents. C. H. Kaplan, The Goodwin Companies, Des Moines, Ia., was renamed Secretary with George C. Stellrecht, John Black Co., Buffa-lo, N.Y., re-elected Treasurer.
