SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS-The Associated Masonry Contractors of Texas held one of their largest conventions when it met at the El Tropicano Motor Hotel on August 11-13. The meeting was opened on Friday morning by State Chairman C. W. Prewitt who introduced San Antonio Mayor Pro-Tem, John Gatti. Following Mr. Gatti's address of welcome, came presentations by C. DeWitt Brown and George Miller. Closing out the program during the morning session was an address by James Howard, Clay Products Association of the Southwest, on the greater utilization of masonry products in relation to highway construction.

The entire Friday afternoon program was devoted to Walter T. Derk's discussion on "Insurance for the Mason Contractor." This was followed by a question and answer period, which proved highly interesting and valuable.
