Release New Safety Film
A new 16mm color sound film on wire-rope safety has received a certificate of merit in the annual award for safety films sponsored by NATIONAL SAFETY NEWS.

The Union Wire Rope film "The Day They Didn't Inspect The Rope" was produced to help operators, owners, and inspectors of booms and hoists eliminate accidents through proper inspection and safety procedures.

Preventing injury is the primary concern, but efficient operation is also covered. The movie stresses additional steps for inspection: unlaying of strands for core examination, inspecting for crown break occurrence, and moving rope position.

The film is now available for individual and group showings from Armco Steel Corporation, 700 Roberts St., Kansas City, Mo. 64125.
