The Associated Masonry Contractors of Texas held their Annual State Meeting in Ft. Worth on August 6-9. Featured speakers were R. R. Prokaski, Dow Chemical Co.; Dr. Don Zacharias, Univ. of Texas, Joe Canterbury and George Miller.... Bricklayers Local #18, Ohio, has moved to new offices. They are now located at 1228 Central Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45210 with the phone number (513) 721-4670. .. Newly elected officers of Bricklayers Local #2, Minnesota, are: Gerald Pierce, President; A. I. Rasmussen, Vice President; Edward Tigue, Recording Secretary and Nels Anderson, Kenneth Johnson, Dwayne Skovbroten as trustees.
Ernest Burgh has been promoted to General Manager of Operations of Marblehead Lime, according to M. J. O'Brien, President. Poe Hardware & Supply Co., Greenville, South Carolina, has been appointed a full line distributor by Avco Felker Corp. MCAA will hold its 21st Annual Convention at the Shamrock Hilton Hotel, Feb. 6-9, 1971. Plan to be there.
James B. Lahey, Atlanta, has been appointed Southeast Regional Sales Manager for the Darex line of concrete admixtures by the Construction Products Div. of W. R. Grace & Co. Anthony LaRose has been named to the position of masonry sales representative for the Detroit sales district of Huron Cement. Fred Livingston, Turner Construction Company, has been selected Chairman of the A10 Standards Committee. Dr. A. Allen Bates has retired as chief, Office of Engineering Standards Liaison, National Bureau of Standards.. The George Hyman Construction Co., Washington, D.C., has announced the opening of a new Atlanta office. The subsidiary will be known as the George Hyman Construction Co. of Georgia, Inc.
Fall Board Meeting
Arrangements have now been completed to hold the Fall MCAA Executive Board Meeting at the Paradise Island Hotel and Villas, Paradise Island, Nassau, on November 5-8. Board Members will have received full information on this meeting, however, if members desire to attend full details can be secured by writing the Executive Office.
