Alpha Reports Income

Alpha Portland Cement Company reported a net income of $480,000 or $.24 per share for the third quarter ended September 30, 1971. This compares with a loss of $2,094,000 or $1.08 per share for the same period of 1970.

Nine month earnings totaled $1,336,000 for 1971 equal to $.69 per share compared to a loss of $4,332,000 or $2.23 per share for the first nine months of 1970. Revenues for the period rose 32% to a record figure of $81,716,000 from the 1970 level of $61,750,000.
