NADD Report
By: Jeffrey L. Brock
Washington, D.C.-It appears evident that Chattanooga Brick & Tile, Inc. will be introduced as NADD's newest member at October's Annual Meeting in Boca Raton, Florida. Sponsored by John Adams, Cherokee Brick Company of N.C., the firm's official NADD representative will be William W. Adams. We are pleased to relate that this brings our membership to 116.
This year's rise in membership count is due, for the most part, to our enthusiastic members and their promotional activities in spreading the word on NADD. Perhaps too, in today's day and age, the importance of an organization to keep busy companies abreast of industry developments and an organization where all problems can be sited and aired is realized. This is the Association, this is NADD.
Our NE Ohio Chapter has been quite active this summer. It has been decided to develop a monthly newsletter to the dealers and distributors in the NE region the purpose being to keep them up-to-date on when there are changes in the area. And it has also been agreed upon to send "Brick & Tile" to the Tri-County area resident architects. The W. L. Tucker Supply Company, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, especially felt that this was a necessary piece of literature for all architects. Again, promotion seems to be the key here, and the Ohio Chapter seems to be doing a fine job in keeping NADD a real tool within the industry.
More Executive Committee meetings are going to occur during the coming year. In this way, all view points can be better expressed, extensive planning for various functions can be easier arranged and ideas for any future policy changes or additions to the curriculum can be discussed in detail first with the Executive Committee. This will be studied at the convention this month, along with other suggestions to make the Association run more smoothly and efficiently. And in this way, NADD will remain the nucleus of activity.
