MCAA Gears Up for Biggest Show
'74 Annual Convention to be Staged in Las Vegas Hilton, February 24-28
Planning is now in the final stages for what promises to be the largest and one of the most important Annual Conventions in MCAA's history. Some 2,500 delegates and more than 140 exhibitors are expected for the five-day meeting and Trade Show in Las Vegas, February 24-28, 1974.
Headlining an impressive slate of speakers will be Dr. John Dunlop, chairman of the Cost of Living Council; Thomas F. Murphy, president of the Bricklayers, Masons & Plasterers International Union of America; and Peter Fosco, president of the Laborers' International Union of North America.
An added speaking attraction will be Jimmy "The Greek" Snyder, the nation's best known oddsmaker, who will present his ideas on why "There Is No Such Thing As Luck." Jimmy will make his appearance at the Monday session on February 25.
One important change in this year's scheduling-when making your hotel reservations at the Las Vegas Hilton, make them for arrival on Sunday, February 24th. The hotel cannot accept any reservations for Saturday evening. So, make special note of this adjustment to avoid any inconvenience to yourself. Las Vegas is a mighty busy place on weekends, with visitors pouring in from everywhere. As a result, our Convention schedule had to be slightly altered to assure hotel accommodations for everyone.

One of the Convention highlights is bound to be the popular Material Handling Jamboree. Absent since the 1971 meeting in Houston, this live demonstration of construction equipment is being revived due to many requests as well as the excellent facilities at the Las Vegas Hilton for staging such a show.
Many of the nation's leading manufacturers will be on hand with their equipment and operators to demonstrate how they actually perform on the job-site. Mason contractors will have an ideal opportunity to personally evaluate performance standards and see how they can apply to their own job requirements.
There is simply no better forum for mason contractors to attend than the MCAA Annual Convention. This assembly largest in the Masonry Industry and now in its 24th year is "the" time and "the" place to learn how to improve your business and your profits. It's something you just can't come by anywhere else.
Besides, Las Vegas is one of the most exciting cities in the world. Why don't you plan on being there, and find out for yourself!
The Las Vegas Hilton, MCAA convention headquarters, is noted for its massive amount of convention space with an endless variety of flexible arrangements for meeting and exhibit areas. The main tower housing more than 1,500 deluxe rooms rises 30 stories.
