Hold 27th Annual Meeting
Perlite Institute, Inc. has announced that its 27th Annual Meeting will be held May 16-21, 1976 at Le Chateau Champlain Hotel, Montreal, Canada.
Among the subjects to be covered at the meeting will be pulmonary function studies of perlite workers, role of perlite products in sound insulation, perlite in the steel and foundry industry and perlite in horticulture.

John C. Telander has been elected President of the Builders' Association of Chicago for 1976. Telander is President of Telander Bros. Contractors, Chicago. Patent Scaffolding Co. has appointed Mason Ford to the newly created position of manager, international marketing. Robert L. Kight has been appointed to the position of Milwaukee District Sales Manager.
Name Borchelt Director
The newly created Masonry Institute of Houston Galveston has opened it's offices and is in full operation. The Institute was formed to increase the use of masonry construction among architects, engineers, developers and building owners.
As a technical resource, the Institute will provide building decision-makers with cost comparison studies, specifications assistance, and code requirements, as well as masonry design alternatives.
Funding of the Institute comes from contributions based on bricklayers' hours.
The Board of Trustees has named Gregg Borchelt as its Executive Director. Borchelt has moved to Houston from Denver, Colorado, where he was Director of Engineering for Masonry.
PC Honors Lovett
Pittsburgh Corning Corporation has announced the appointment of Walter Lovett as a Senior Associate. Mr. Lovett, previously Manager-Technical Services, is the first individual named to this new Senior Associate Program established to recognize significant contributions to the company over a period of years.
Mr. Lovett joined Pittsburgh Corning in 1950 and holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a registered professional engineer.
Keys Acquires Cushwa
E. C. Keys & Son, building supply and heating oil distributing firm headquartered in Silver Spring. Md., a suburb of Washington, D. C., has acquired Cushwa Brick and Building Supply Co., Beltsville, Md., in an expansion move. The purchase price was undisclosed.
Cushwa was founded in 1947. At the time of acquisition, it was one of the major suppliers of brick in the United States.
