MCA OF ALBERTA
The Masonry Contractors of Alberta (Southern Region) have elected a new slate of officers for a two-year term. Gunther Nagel, Globe Masonry Ltd., is the new president. Vice-president is Frank Groves, Morstead Masonry Ltd. Past president, and directors, are: Klaus Pohl, K & K Masonry Ltd.: Gerry Birch, Inland Cement Industries Ltd.; Tom Dowsett, Calgary Masonry Supplies Ltd.; Ed Moritz, Ed Moritz Masonry & Tile Ltd., Vince Salerno, David Vincent Masonry Ltd.; Wiet van Cuyk, Pockar Bros. Masonry Ltd.; and Elwood Chartrand, Masonry Contractors of Alberta (Southern Region).


L. D. White Staff Additions
Lawrence D. White Associates, Inc., Fort Worth architects and engineers, announce the addition of an executive vice president and a director of engineering, effective immediately. In the announcement, Lawrence White, president, named Albert Gregor. AIA, executive vice president and design principal. As an executive officer he is responsible for general management of the firm, direction of all professional design and planning services, project management and client relations.

James R. Jones, PE, has been named vice president and engineering design principal. His responsibilities include management of engineering design services and project management for such engineering projects as airports, industrial installations and utilities.


Canadian Research Council
The Canadian Masonry Research Council met in Winnipeg on March 11th and 12th to continue its examination of research needs in the field of masonry. The Council is an interdisciplinary one composed of individuals chosen for their knowledge and experience in the various facets of construction. Architecture, engineering, university and government research, construction and manufacturing are represented.
