Architecture Scholarship Created at Lawrence Tech
In recognition of more than 30 years of dedicated service to the masonry industry, friends and business associates of James R. Snyder have created the annual J. R. Snyder Scholarship at Lawrence Institute of Technology, Detroit, Mich.
One of Snyder's fondest desires has been to provide opportunities for young people to pursue an education in architecture. He has particularly expressed a wish that people who are familiar with the masonry industry be encouraged to become involved in the design decisions of the construction industry.
A lifelong resident of Detroit, Snyder established the J. R. Snyder Masonry Company in 1949 and has constructed many major projects in southeastern Michigan. He is a founding trustee of the Masonry Institute of Michigan.
Details of the scholarship may be obtained from Dean Karl H. Greimel, School of Architecture, Lawrence Institute of Technology, 21000 W. Ten Mile Rd., Southfield, Mich. 48075.
