AED Head Forecasts
Rising Business in '78
John E. Cross, retiring 1977 president of the Associated Equipment Distributors, held out the promise of "sunny business prospects" for 1978 in an address before AED's 59th annual meeting in Chicago in late January.
"I saw and heard optimism among our members the past few months which is reflected in a current prediction of a 10 percent further gain in sales volume in '78," Cross said.
He cautioned, however, that continually changing business conditions and inflation could chew up all but a few percentage points of that predicted growth.
Some 4,300 persons representing over 1,100 industry firms attended the meeting.
