Two officers of Marion Brick have been named to its board of directors by the international parent corporation, Ibstock-Johnsen Ltd. James A. Hedgpeth and E. Armour Johnson move up to the board while maintaining their current executive positions with the Marion, Ohio-based brick producer. Ibstock-Johnsen is headquartered in the United Kingdom and has production facilities in the U.K., Belgium, Holland and the U.S.

The Detroit Chapter of the Michigan Society of Professional Engineers has honored John Banicke, P.E., as "Engineer of the Year". John F. McLaughlin, professor of civil engineering and assistant dean, Schools of Engineering at Purdue University, has been installed as president of the American Concrete Institute.

Universal Atlas Cement Division of U.S. Steel has been restructured into two regions-Eastern, headed by Francis D. Murphy, and Western, headed by Lloyd L. Schwarz. The change is expected to provide more flexibility and efficiency in production, sales and distribution. Robert J. McConnon has assumed the position of administrator of the Bureau of Apprenticeship & Training (BAT), U.S. Labor Department. The Featherlite Corp., Austin, Texas, has announced management changes for two regions. Jim Norman is the new general manager for the Tri Cities (Texas) and Lake Charles (La.) region, and Ken Keegan becomes regional area manager for the Baton Rouge and New Orleans (La.) operations.

Richard P. Geyser, a registered architect, has joined George A. Fuller Co.'s Chicago office as director of marketing and project development, and Ray W. Stevens has been promoted to Midwest regional manager of the large-scale general contracting and construction management firm. Barbara A. Ludden has been appointed director of government liaison for the American National Standards Institute in Washington, D.C. Paul A. Crouch, formerly with Aluminum Co. of America, has been named president of The Refractories Institute in Pittsburgh. Christopher Brown, formerly vice president of Construction Products Co., has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Conproco Corp., Londonderry, N.H. Robert G. Simrell, executive secretary of the Mason Contractors Association of Central Pennsylvania, is on the mend following a recent illness.
