Update on '81 MCAA
Masonry Conference and Educational Trade Show

Here is a brief description of the planned activities for this year's Conference and Show. These program highlights will be supplemented in the January issue of "Masonry" with the complete list of speakers, business and social functions, meeting room assignments and other specific details.
Wednesday, February 25, 1981
Starting at 2:00 p.m., the MCAA Management Institute will conduct the first of a three-part, Pre-Conference Seminar on Mason Contracting Operations in the 80s. The first session will be devoted to "Insurance and Bonding for Mason Contractors," with Bob Gill and Bob Sunich of the Talbert Corporation, Denver, Colo., as the featured lecturers. Some of the specific topics to be covered include construction and supply contract bonds, insurance during construction, bid and performance bonds, property insurance-builder's risk or installation floaters, and architects' and engineers' professional indemnity or errors and omissions.
Note: Special registration must be made for this Seminar on forms provided by the MCAA Executive Office; this is in addition to the Conference registration fees.

Part II of the Pre-Conference Seminar will be conducted Thursday morning on "Loadbearing Masonry Construction," with Construction Consultant Jerry G. Pope of Greeley, Colo., the lecturer.
Part III on "Pre-constructed Masonry Panels" will be presented Thursday afternoon. The lecturers for this session will be Jack Bailey of Jack J. Bailey Co., Arvada, Colo., and George Hansen, P.E., Structural Engineer with the Colorado Masonry Institute, Denver. MCAA members who have done masonry panel work also will join the speakers to supplement the discussions.
Friday, February 27, 1981
Friday has been set aside as "Association Business Day." Starting at 8:30 a.m., all MCAA standing committees will meet to present their reports to the Executive Board. The Regional Vice Presidents will conduct their conferences at 1:30 p.m. Rounding out the full day of Association business meetings, the MCAA Executive Board will convene at 3:00 p.m. and stay in session until all business is completed.
Saturday, February 28, 1981
Saturday morning will be devoted entirely to roundtable discussions dealing with those problems that daily confront every mason contractor in the operation of his business. A special presentation also will be made by Associate Members of MCAA on two highly topical matters relating to the masonry industry.
On Saturday afternoon the focus will shift to another important segment of the Conference the '81 MCAA Educational Trade Show. Following a reception at 2:00 p.m., President Louis J. Helbert. Jr. will please turn to page 26
