William T. Cavanaugh, president of the American Society for Testing & Materials, has been elected chairman of the National Executive Committee of the Consultative Council for the National Institute of Building Sciences.. John Poer has been promoted to general sales manager for the Pacific Northwest, Genstar Cement & Lime Co., San Francisco, Cal. He will be based in Portland, Ore.. Joel B. Stronberg, a partner in the political consulting firm of Stronberg & D'Addario Ltd., has been named government relations director of the Brick Institute of America... David Boyer has been elevated to southeastern regional manager of ProSoCo, Inc., with headquarters in Stone Mountain, Ga.

Standards on Safety and Health Published
The American National Standards Institute has published a revised edition of its catalog of American National Standards for Safety and Health. The 1981-82 edition lists all existing ANSI-approved safety and health standards, including those for the construction industry.

Masonry Institute of Atlanta Gives Award
Robert & Co. Associates, 64-year-old Atlanta arthitectural/engineering planning firm, is the recipient of a Certificate of Merit Award from the Masonry Institute of Atlanta. The award was presented recently at the Atlanta Chapter American Institute of Architects luncheon for Robert & Co.'s design of Georgia Marble Co.'s new Calcium Products Division office building at Marble Hill, Ga. The awards jury was impressed with the successful handling of numerous masonry building materials including concrete block, glass block, slate, and marble.
