Orlando Program Shapes Up as One of the Best
The program for MCAA's 32nd International Masonry Conference and Educational Trade Show is now totally intact. And it promises to be one of the most informative in the Association's history. Please look over the program on the following pages. It's a solid one, with something for everybody.
We are indeed fortunate to have as a featured speaker at the Opening Session the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, R. T. NcNamar. Mr. McNamar was appointed to his post by President Ronald Reagan in January, 1981, and has wide-ranging experience as a legal and financial counselor in both private industry and government. His talk will center on the nation's economy.
Joining him will be Dick Milham, who heads his own corporation and has been acclaimed for his creative addresses and seminars in human resource development. His seminars on stress management, effective communication and motivating people have been called a "practical approach to the motivation problem."
Other important topics of vital interest to mason contractors include Apprenticeship, Masonry Systems, Metal Studs, ERISA, and Industry Promotion. A pre-Conference seminar on Friday, February 12, will cover Basic Masonry Estimating and Panelization/Stone and Brick/Fabrication, Erection on, Erection and Related Details. The seminar on panels is an expanded version of the previously announced workshop on masonry an-

chorage systems, and includes a great deal more coverage than originally planned.
Recently added speakers include Bruce N. Voss, director of the International Masonry Institute's Apprenticeship and Training Program in Washington, D.C., and R. R. "Bob" Simmons, a Tampa-based builder who is considered one of the nation's foremost authorities on design/build management concepts in the masonry industry. Joining Mr. Simmons for this seminar on masonry systems will be MCAA member James Luterbach of James Luterbach Construction Co., Inc., New Berlin, Wis. The moderators for this session will be Ray Prossen of R. J. Prossen, Inc., Brookfield, Wis., and Jim Cope, Morgen Manufacturing Co., Yankton, S.D., co-chairmen of the MCAA Masonry Systems Committee.
One of the looked-forward-to highlights of the Conference and Trade Show will again be, as in years past, the Masonry Industry Showcase featuring live demonstrations of on-site masonry construction equipment, including rough terrain forklifts. The participation in this event by many of the nation's leading manufacturers has been one of the largest to date and should emerge as a major attraction of the Conference and Show.
Social get-togethers also have not been overlooked. There will be the President's Reception, a Western Party, an "Attitude Adjustment Hour," and the Annual Banquet and dinner dance with a large orchestra and entertainment. Not to mention the excellent food to add to everyone's enjoyment.
The registration fees are among the lowest of any association's annual affairs. They are a real bargain! You merely have to compare them with other functions you have attended recently. So, look over the program and see for yourself. There is plenty of educational content to help you to run a more profitable business with increased understanding and confidence.
