MCAA CONFERENCE

Dick Felice displays the new Masonry Marketing Manual.

The promotion tool is in ring-binder form and is structured to deal with the "Five E's" of Masonry: Esthetics, Economics, Energy, Engineering and Erection.

Each section has been divided into a marketing position statement that can be used in dealing with prospective clients and a commentary section that is intended to make the user more knowledgeable and proficient in using that section as a marketing tool. Also included are promotional and technical materials relating to the section.

By no means a static product, the manual is designed to be built on and tailored to individual needs and markets. (Details of cost and availability of the manual to MCAA members will be announced shortly.)

Compilation of the manual was coordinated by the MCAA Masonry Systems Marketing Committee under the co-chairmanship of Dick Felice and Jim Cope.

Some of the speakers showed slides to expand on the sections of the manual they helped to compose. At the session's conclusion, they formed a panel and fielded questions from the floor.

Opening of MCAA Trade Show

Association business occupied the attendees on Saturday morning, January 28, at which time nine committee meetings were held. The meetings were followed by the annual President's Reception which featured a Dixieland band that played traditional New Orleans music during the social hour and then led the guests to the exhibit hall for the official opening of the '84 MCAA Educational Trade Show.

Sunday, January 29, was another day of serious business, starting at 10:00 a.m. with an Industry Promotion Meeting conducted by Ray Lackey, executive director of continued on page 10.

Jerry Pope's seminar on "Masonry Estimating For a Profit" drew a large and studious group of masonry construction personnel.
