The Show will run for three days, concluding on Tuesday. Sunday's Show hours are 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The MCAA Registration Desk will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

MONDAY, February 15, 1982

MCAA's 32nd International Masonry Conference will be officially launched with the Opening Session beginning at 9:30 a.m. President Louis J. Helbert. Jr. will preside and deliver his annual President's Report.

U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, the Hon. Donald Regan, has been invited to address the Opening Session on the fiscal and economic affairs facing the nation today. The Conference keynoter will be Dick Milham, President of Human Resource Services. Mr. Milham has addressed numerous professional associations and business organizations, and is regarded as one of the nation's truly dynamic speakers who not only can motivate audiences but "move" them.

Four hours will then be devoted to visiting the Trade Show beginning at 12:00 noon. This will be followed at 4:15 p.m. with the annual meeting of MCAA Associate Members.

That evening, at 6:30 p.m., MCAA Members will be treated to a lively "Western Party," with authentic cowboy-style food, music and entertainment. Be sure to keep Monday evening open for a hootin', tootin' good time!

The MCAA Registration Desk will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

TUESDAY, February 16, 1982

The ever-popular "Masonry Industry Showcase" will be presented at 8:30 a.m. and run for approximately two hours. Thanks to Florida's anticipated fair weather, the Showcase will be staged outdoors in the parking area near the entrance to the Hyatt House. Some of the nation's leading manufacturers of masonry construction equipment will again put their machines through the paces in live demonstrations for the benefit of MCAA mason contractors.

Beginning at 11:00 a.m., a buffet luncheon will be available in the exhibit hall, where the Trade Show will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on its final day.

That afternoon, the MCAA Masonry Systems Committee will conduct a seminar on masonry systems from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The thrust of the seminar will be a nuts-and-bolts discussion of the "why's" and "why not's" of utilizing this type of building system. The speakers will be persons who have had considerable experience in this field.

The MCAA Registration Desk will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, February 17, 1982

Wednesday morning will be devoted to two Industry Workshops. The first of these, from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m., will be on "Metal Studs-Its Pros and Cons." The discussions will center on the test results of a research project on metal studs cosponsored by the Brick Institute of America and the Metal Lath/Steel Framing Association. The research was conducted by Clemson University under the direction of Russell H. Brown, Ph.D., P.E., of the university's Department of Civil Engineering. Joining Dr. Brown in this presentation will be Robert Hatch, Chairman of MCAA's Contract Research Committee; Robert Beiner, Director of Engineering, International Masonry Institute, and Alan Yorkdale, Vice President of Engineering & Research, Brick Institute of America.

The second Workshop, on "ERISA-the Employment Retirement Income Security Act of 1974," will be directed by MCAA's Legal Counsel, George Plumb, from 10:30 a.m. until noon. Special emphasis will be placed on contractors' withdrawal liability and other salient provisions. Mr. Plumb will be assisted by industry experts in discussing this all-encompassing federal legislation.

At 1:30 p.m., the MCAA Annual Meeting will be conducted and Association officers elected for the coming year. All MCAA Members are again urged to attend, as much important Association and Industry business will open for discussion. Remember, your input is needed!

That evening, following an "Attitude Adjustment Hour" (6:30 p.m.), the MCAA Annual Banquet (7:30 p.m.) will feature live entertainment and dance music and conclude MCAA's 32nd International Masonry Conference.

The MCAA Registration Desk will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

THURSDAY, February 18, 1982

The MCAA Executive Board will convene from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, during which all newly elected officers of the Association will be administered their oaths and officially take office.
