INTERIOR DESIGN
SINCE THE BEGINNING of time, masonry has been one of the most reliable building materials, used in many different applications and designs. It's durable, strong and provides beauty that lasts for centuries. In combination with other building materials, such as steel, wood, glass, concrete and tile, brick and stone provide some of the most beautiful structures ever created.
BRICK and stone have also found many applications in the interior design of homes and office buildings. Not only have masonry fireplaces been the focal point of homes for centuries, but brick and stone can also be an important material in developing a unique atmosphere, such as in entryways and lobbies, kitchens with bricked-in appliances, arched and curved walls with compartments for stereo and television. Special effects are also created with sculptured brick designs.
IT'S EASY to see that the design of the brick and stone is a crucial decision when one is designing the interior of a home or office. With masonry, the application is limited only by the ideas and abilities of the designer and installer.
