EVANSTON PUBLIC LIBRARY, Evanston, IL Architect of Record: Nagle Hartray & Associates, Ltd. Design Architect: Joseph Powell Architect Mason Contractor: Ceisel Masonry, Inc. Job Foreman: George Klupp Supplier: Beck Sunray, Inc. The jurors thought the detailing of the brick and stone facades and the large brick blers we very well done. The careful blending of horizontal accents and vertical piers created an appealing visual order. The massing was articulated quite nicely and the building as a whole was very well detailed. One critic remarked. "This building is monumental, yet it is very well broken down to a very pleasing scale by all the different masonry elements.
