PRODUCT UPDATE
Grouting System
The new Chemgrout Model CG-555/030/GH grouting system exemplifies their philosophy of keeping things simple-and successful. This grouting system combines Chemgrout's easy disassembly technology with simple operation that enables a single operator to mix and pump simultaneously and continuously. The CG-555 can pump at rates of up to 14 GPM and pressures up to 300 PSI. The CG-555/030/GH features a 45-gallon mixing tank, 30 gallon holding hopper, a piston pump and its own gas/hydraulic power system with centrally-located separate controls for the mixer and grout pump. The system can be either skid or trailer mounted with power options that include air, hydraulic and gas/hydraulic. Chemgrout is located in LaGrange Park, Illinois, USA. For more information on their CG-565, HP Series or other products phone (708) 354-7112 or tax (708) 354-3881.
Pickup Step
A new 19" Easy Step is now available to building and construction personnel who operate 4-Wheel Drive and other pickups having a 19" high tailgate. Easy Steps let operators walk into the truck bed, rather than crawl in as in the past. It reduces strain and prevents injuries caused by slipping off the trailer hitch when it is misused as a step. Easy Step is made of sturdy steel, covered with durable powder coat metal paint. It has a non-skid step and a safety handle to provide safe entry and exit from the truck's bed. Easy Step is affixed to the inside of the tailgate with metal screws. It folds compactly on the inside of the tailgate and is not visible from the exterior when the tailgate is closed. And it was tested by a 275 pound pickup owner. 16" units are also available for smaller sized trucks having a 16" tailgate. For additional information contact Bick & Associates, Inc., 13830 Kingsride Lane. Houston, TX 77079. Toll Free 888-365-6934 or call 281-531-1667. FAX 281-531-9655.
Loader
3,000 lbs. rated operating capacity means plenty of power. The biggest Bobcat skid-steer loader has grown stronger and longer. The new C-Series 963 wheelbase is nearly 8 in. (200 mm) longer than the Bobcat 953, the loader it replaces. The result is a smoother-riding machine with a 25 percent higher SAE rated operating capacity of 3,000 lbs. (1350 kg). It also features two-speed travel that tops out at nine mph. Powered by a turbo-charged, 105-hp Perkins diesel engine, the new 963 is still the same trim width (78 in. or 1981 mm with 14-17.5 flotation tires) as the 953, but it has a 2.5-in. (62.5 mm) higher dump height. The 963 is also more versatile. The 26GPM hydraulic flow and 3,375 psi system pressure allows the use of high-flow attachments such as the Bobcat planer, stump grinder and wheel saw on the standard auxiliary circuit. That hydraulic system features proportional "feathering" control, providing precise control of auxiliary flow. A variety of other Bob-Tach mounted attachments including auger, backhoe, buckets, breaker, grapple and pallet forks--give the unit added jobsite versatility. Over-the-wheel-tracks are also available. For more information phone Melroe Company at 701/241-8700 or fax at 701 241 8704.
Material Handler
Ingersoll-Rand's Construction Material Handling Equipment (CMHE) Group has expanded its rough terrain forklift line with the introduction of the VR-636 telescopic material handler. The VR-636 offers a lift height of a full 6,000-pound load to 36 feet, 3 inches; a forward reach of 20 feet, 6 inches; and can lift loads from two feet below grade. "Ingersoll-Rand is proud to introduce the VR-636 as the work horse for our new family of telescopic material handlers," said Mike Reilly, marketing manager, for Ingersoll-Rand's CMHE Group, "The low profile, ergonomically designed VR-636 offers our customers benefits unlike any other machine in the industry, including an overall height of 95 inches in the carry position and the ability to carry a load under an 8 foot overhead." The VR-636's overall height of 95 inches is possible, thanks in part, because of a low mounted engine in the center of the frame. This maximizes the weight low in the machine and in-between the axles, helping to make the VR-636 among the most stable machines in its class. For more information about Ingersoll-Rand s Construction Material Handlers, please write or send a fax to Ingersoll-Rand, 253 East Washington Avenue, Dept. 697 Washington, NJ 07882. Concrete Pump
The new Mustang 50R trailer-mounted concrete pump, manufactured by Yankton, South Dakota-based Morgen Manufacturing Co., offers an affordable option for jobs not requiring the output and pressure of larger trailer pumps. With a horsepower equivalent to all the competitive pumps in its class, the new 80 HP water-cooled diesel engine enables excellent pumping power and performance. The cast swing valve provides a nearly straight-line flow of concrete resulting in a smoother, longer reduction from 6-inches to 5-inches. With double-steel side walls, the rugged one-piece reinforced concrete hopper withstands 900 psi and provides better sealing for longer life of wear parts. An integrated design combines the frame, waterbox and hopper into a unitized structural member. Convenient external adjustment of the outlet port makes it easy to keep the wear plate and ring tightly sealed. Tighter fit and tolerances in the triple-sealed outlet port eliminate grout contamination of moving parts. The large cleanout door, secured with a knockout pin, makes cleanup a breeze after the pour. To ensure long life and tight sealing, the one-piece wear plate and floating wear ring are precision machined. Extending the life of the concrete pumping pistons, the new water box design creates easy access for maintenance and replacement. Heat generated by hard pumping is quickly dissipated with an efficient hydraulic oil cooler. The heavy-duty oil cooler and one micron filtration system provide clean, cool oil for longer life of all hydraulic components. Morgen Manufacturing Co. is a major manufacturer of truck- and trailer-mounted concrete pumps, conveyors for concrete and granular material, and adjustable scaffolding.
