January 2008: President's Message

Words: Frank CampitelliJanuary 2008 President's Message

Thanks for an Enjoyable Term as President

Frank CampitelliFrank Campitelli President, Mason Contractors Association of America

First and foremost, I would like to wish each and every reader of Masonry magazine a healthy and prosperous New Year! With the passing of another year, my term as president is quickly coming to a close. For those of you who have been through the process of serving as president of the MCAA, you understand just how mixed your emotions are at the end of your term.

For most who go through this process, it is a minimum of a two-year commitment. Along the way, you form some of the most long-lasting and close friendships you will ever make. The process moves relatively quickly and, as you look back, you wish there were just a little more time to see some projects to completion. Don't get me wrong, during my term, there were days when I wished the term was over that day. But, as with as any worthwhile journey in life, those days you have hopefully make you become a stronger and better person. (In this case, the MCAA has bettered and become stronger as an organization.)

I would like to personally thank my officers for all of their support and input during a very difficult period. They are a tremendous group of leaders, each with so much to add and offer from their experiences. I will always have fond memories of them.

I would like to thank our new executive director and the staff for helping to make the transition as smooth and effortless as possible. I would also like to thank those in my company (too many to thank individually) for affording me the opportunity to serve. Lastly, but certainly not least, I would also like to thank my wife, Angela, whom I deeply admire, for sharing me with the organization. She has truly helped make me a success not only as president, but also as a person in life.

I would like to wish incoming president, Tom Daniel, much success in his term. I am quite confident he will help lead the MCAA to new heights in the years ahead. MCAA regional vice presidents, committee chairmen, past presidents and members: Thank you for the honor of serving as your president.
