MK Diamond Acquires Sawtec
MK Diamond Products Inc. acquired the Sawtec brand from Blastrac NA. The Sawtec brand provides contractors with a range of dust-free tools and grinding accessories for surface preparation and concrete repair. Sawtec will be marketed as a sub-brand of MK Diamond, which will preserve its successful reputation and brand identity within the construction industry. The acquisition combines one of the oldest family-owned leaders of cutting tools with a new line of products for surface preparation. The Sawtec product line will include surface preparation equipment, dust-free tools for cutting and widening joints, grinding accessories and shrouds.
Society of Fire Protection Engineers Hires Freedman, Executive Director
The Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) hired Allan Freedman as its fourth executive director. Prior to joining SFPE, Freedman was the managing director for two divisions of the American Road and Transportation Builders Association. He brings 16 years of experience as an association professional to the position and has worked on many member services including education and training programs, workforce development, publications and conference programs.
Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America, Jungheinrich Enter Agreement
Jungheinrich AG and Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc. (MCFA) have entered into a manufacturing and distribution agreement for the North American market. Under the terms of the agreement, MCFA will be the exclusive distributor of Jungheinrich-branded warehouse products in the United States, Canada and Mexico, beginning in 2010. Jungheinrich will design new products for the North American market to be manufactured by MCFA. Additionally, Jungheinrich will supply some Class 1 products for sale under the Cat lift trucks brand and Class 3 products for sale under the Mitsubishi forklift trucks brand. As part of the agreement, Jungheinrich will establish a design center on MCFA's Houston campus. The Houston Design Center (HDC) will focus on development of a new range of warehouse products designed for and manufactured in North America. The HDC will be staffed with Jungheinrich personnel.
