SPEC MIX Integral Water Repellent (IWR) mortar is a dry preblended mortar mix formulated for water repellency, superior bond strength, and to mitigate efflorescence. All constituents of SPEC MIX IWR mortar, especially IWR admixture, are computer batched to ensure product performance and total consistency-IT ELIMINATES THE FEAR OF ADDING LIQUID ADMIXTURES ON SITE. Compared to field-mixed mortar made with liquid admixtures, SPEC MIX IWR mortar is engineered and tested proving a 40% increase in flexural bond strength, especially with water repellent treated masonry units. Available in types M, S, N, SPEC MIX IWR mortar is manufactured to meet ASTM C 270, C 1384 and E 514 specifications and standards.
