Division to Manufacture Reinforcing Wire at Sandell

Words: Dan Kamys

Sandell Construction Solutions, a N.Y.-based manufacturer of masonry waterproofing products and commercial wall anchoring systems, has added a new division to manufacture reinforcing wire for Concrete Masonry Unit backup wall systems.

“This product line really makes us the most complete one-stop-shop in the industry,” says Sandell’s CEO and president, Saverio Minucci. “The array of products we can offer to ship from one location far outweighs any of our competitors’ now. Having the wire really levels the playing field for us.”

The product will be manufactured at Sandell’s locations in New York, Alabama and Wisconsin, and will be available in several different sizes, weights and finishes.

“Manufacturing in all of our locations is really a necessity, not just to keep freight costs lower but also to keep our products effective in the LEED program,” says Jeremy Douglas, VP of sales and marketing for Sandell. “Now, we can ship this product just about anywhere and still maintain a 500-mile radius. We didn’t see the point in using recycled steel products and not being able to do that.”
