Crossville Inc.’s Q2R allows specifiers selecting tile products to create personal portfolios of favorite products right on an iPhone, Android or other smart phone. Using the “Quick to Request, Quick to Respond” app to scan Quick Response (QR) codes on all Crossville sample chips will immediately produce product details. Samples can be requested in real time, and links to products can be shared through social networks. When a Q2R account is created, an online portfolio can be visited anytime for easy viewing of product lists.

Crossville Q2R was created as part of the company’s Sustainable Samples program. This approach to tile product sampling lets contractors, architects, designers, builders (all specifiers) use the smart phone app to get the information they need immediately and quickly, and to request only the samples they really want.

Crossville’s Sustainable Samples kit, which contains realistic “tile” samples made of recycled and recyclable cardstock, has been created using advanced, high-resolution imaging technology to capture a near-exact visual of each tile. This earth-friendly chip kit contains every tile, every color in Crossville’s Porcelain Stone collection in a compact, lightweight kit that is about 10 X 10 X 4 inches.

The back of each “tile” has a QR code that specifiers can scan with their smart phones to retrieve more information about the product. When they have made their selections, that same smart phone app will enable them to automatically order a real product sample, just by clicking on one button. It’s the sustainable way to make samples attainable.
