The Masonry Society Introduces Inspection Seminar

Words: Phillip SamblanetThe Masonry Standards Joint Committee (MSJC) is responsible for developing and maintaining the Building Code Requirements for Masonry Structures and the Specification for Masonry Structures. As codes and other documents evolve, inspection has become more critical than ever. Identifying and checking key quality assurance items on masonry projects is essential for attaining quality masonry construction.

To address this need, The Masonry Society (TMS) designed a seminar to help train masonry inspectors. Inspection of Masonry Construction, which debuted as a one-day seminar on Nov. 8 in Pittsburgh, is based on the 2006 IBC and the 2005 MSJC, along with related ASTM standards and inspection guides.

For more information about the seminar, contact TMS at 303-939-9700.
