The last Workshop Session on Tuesday will feature Financing and will be moderated by Dee Brown, Dallas, Texas. Principle speaker will be Ralph Rogers, President, Texas Industries. Reports from Bob Tubesing and Bartlett indicate that the '62 edition of the Material Handling Jamboree is moving along in excellent shape. The close proximity of the demonstration area along with added facilities will do much to continue to make this one of the outstanding parts of the entire program. Arthur Stone will again moderate the session. German May states that the three secured speakers on the Monday evening agenda will provide MCAA members and their wives with a highly informative, yet most enjoyable, presentation.

Delta Air Lines Official '62 Convention Carrier
Delta Air Lines, the Official Carrier for the 1962 Houston Convention, is a friendly, progressive airline with headquarters in Atlanta, Ga.
Delta was organized at Monroe, La. in 1925 as the world's first commercial crop dusting company and flew its first passengers in 1929 in 90-mile-per-hour six-passenger Travelairse which needed a full day to make the 720-mile flight from Dallas to Atlanta, allowing time on the ground at Jackson, Misa. for the passengers to stretch and have lunch. Today, luxuriously-equipped 86-passenger Convair 880 jetliners zip non-stop from Chicago to Houston, a distance of over 900 miles, in 2 hours 5 minutes, with a delicious complimentary hot meal served en route.
An airmail contract in 1934, giving Delta the right to fly from Dallas-Ft. Worth to Atlanta and Charleston, provided the nucleus for the great network of service which has developed.
The company has experienced a steadily expanding pattern of growth. On May 1, 1953, Chicago and Southern Air Lines merged with Delta, adding 22 domestic cities and six countries to Delta's routes, and permitting the airline to offer foreign travel with the package vacations it introduced in 1947. Delta's Dream Vacation program is now in its 15th year, offering vacations to fit any budget, at a wide variety of resort areas in Florida, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, New York, and New Orleans.
The airline's jet fleet consists of both the Douglas DC-B and the Convair 880. Delta led the world in the inauguration of DC-8 service on Sept. 18, 1959, and achieved the same distinction with the inauguration of Convair 880 service on May 15, 1960. In July Delta announced a $36,000,000 expansion of its jet program with the purchase of four additional Convair 880's and three DC-8's for delivery in 1962. Delivery of the aircraft will increase Delta's jet fleet to 25, representing an investment in excess of $125 million.
With 12 Convair 880's in operation by the end of 1961, and four more scheduled for 1962 delivery, Delta will have 16 of the 615-mile-per-hour jetliners in service.
The airline now operates six DC-8's. The DC-8's in the new order will be powered by four JT3D-1 Pratt and Whitney forward fan engines, each generating a 17,000-lb thrust. This model is the most powerful DC-8 built by Douglas Aircraft.
